Koochiching County Board of Commissioners will discuss later this month a proposal to establish a data centre in International Falls.
Granite Digital Realty wants to purchase a former military training centre from the County and acquire a tax abatement for the ten years.
A recent Koochiching Development Authority meeting, Company founder Joe Merchon says the data center will bring high paying jobs to the community.
Merchon says he’s travelling to New York in March to promote the project, noting interest already from Hewlett Packett Enterprise.
Commissioner Wade Pavleck, though, is concerned by the ask for a tax abatement.
The issue comes back before the County February 28.
