Ashley Payne of Fort Frances and Mackenzie Jolicoeur of Stratton have a share of the early lead in the of the Northern Ontario under 18 girls curling championship at the Fort Frances Curling Club.
Payne opened the event with wins over Blind River’s Hannah May and Sudbury’s Mia Toner.
Jolicoeur’s rink scored wins over May and Cochrane’s Abby DeJoseph.
Payne’s rink plays again at 8:30 a.m. this morning against Bella Croisier who is also 2-0 before Jolicoeur goes up against the Sudbury rink at 12:30 p.m.
New Liskeard’s foursome skipped by Jessica Amyot is also 2-0.
It’s a four-way tie for first in the boy’s division as well.
Malcolm O’Bridge of North Bay, Joshua Landry of New Liskeard, Myles Harding of Thunder Bay and Matthew Duizer of Timmins are all 2-0 after yesterday’s action.
