Despite public outcry over recent provincial government changes to autism funding, the PCs are now announcing a number of new initiatives for autistic kids in the school system.
Education Minister Lisa Thompson says they’ll be expanding an after school program to all 72 school boards in Ontario.
Ontario’s Education Minister is also providing additional funding to school boards for each new autistic student enrolled in their schools.
As well, any teacher who wants to take a course which instructs them on how to deal with autistic children, will get the course subsidized by the province.
