The Rainy River District School Board is trying to get construction of a new consolidated school in Rainy River moving.
The Board wants to tender the project but doesn’t have the okay yet from the Ministry of Education.
Board chair Raymond Roy has written Education Minister Lisa Thompson.
“It’s pressing to the fact that we want to go to tender so that we can advantage of some of the construction season this summer. The longer we delay going to tender the longer it pushes the project into next fall,” says Roy.
Roy says the Board has been ready to tender since November.
So far, the Minister has not responded to the letter sent in the middle of March.
