There will be one logo to be used by the Ontario government.
It will be a redesign of the Ontario Trillium with the slogan “Working For You.”
“While the new trillium logo looks like a classic, it is also been specifically designed to meet the highest standards of accessibility while remaining digitally friendly and adaptable across all proper platforms in both languages,” says Treasury Board president Peter Bethlanfalvy.
The move to a single brand will also replaceĀ patch work of logos that had been designed by specific Ministries and programs.
“Since 2014 that branding work has cost taxpayers over $2-million,” says Bethlanfalvy. “And what did we get for all that money? A bunch of different logos and brands that often don’t even look like they’re connected to the government.”
Bethlanfalvy has stopped work on any other logos in the works with newer one being phased in over time.
Revenue-generating government bodies with existing brand identities will be managed on a case-by-case basis.
