Labour continues to rally against the Ford government’s budget cuts.
Days of Action promoted by the Ontario Federation of Labour were held in 50 cities yesterday, including Thunder Bay.
Union spokesperson Jared Hunt says as a teacher he’s seeing the concern in education.
“Nobody’s quite sure what’s going to happen. And all we know as education workers is that were going to lose twenty to twenty five percent of the classes in post secondary schools across the province. That’s one in four teachers,” says Hunt.
Hunts says the biggest concern is the lack of details and how the funding changes will impact workers and individuals.
“I think we’re gonna know over the next several weeks about more details of how their going to implement what they’re gonna do. But to take one billion dollars from social services is extraordinary and nobody knows how they’re gonna do it.”
