The Minister responsible for libraries suggests an inter-library loan service could return if mail service was used to deliver those books.
The service was immediately halted following budget cuts to the Ontario Library Service.
In a letter to libraries, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport Michael Tibollo expresses his disappointment but says the service was inefficient.
He says the use of vans to move books was costing $1.3 million a year.
Tibollo says using mail would reduced costs by 25 per cent.
