The union representing beer store workers is warning of higher prices and job loss if the Ford government gives convenience store owners the right to sell beer.
The United Food and Commercial Workers Union has launched a public awareness campaign in its fight against the plan.
It says previous studies indicate beer prices will rise due to higher distribution costs and higher markups.
The union adds Ontario could be on the hook for a billion dollars if the government breaks a current retailing agreement with the breweries.
