A road project in Fort Frances is among those that has been shortlisted for provincial funding.
The improvements to Colonization Road West must now be approval by the federal government under a new infrasturucture program.
Operations and Facilities Manager Travis Rob says it’s uncertain when they’ll know if the project been greelighted by the feds.
“In talking to the people with that program they don’t know how long the federal evaluation is going to be on those projects that were recommended but they don’t anticipate it being tremendously long,” says Rob.
The project includes improving a 478 metre section of roadway and replacing sewer and water lines.
It was one of 49 the province sent to the federal government for consideration.
