Fort Frances Council is publicly recognizing the efforts of Borderland Pride for staging last week’s Pride Week events.
Mayor June Caul, who took part in the Saturday’s Pride Walk, acknowledged the work of the organizing group at Monday’s council meeting.
“I want to congratulate Councillor (Doug) Judson and Peter Howie, Caitlin Hartlen and all of the people who prepared all the activities for Pride Week last week. It was a great week,” says Caul.
An estimated 300 people took part in that walk.
Councillor Mike Behan also walked the route from Smokey Bear Park in International Falls to the Rainy Lake Square.
“Kudo to Borderland Pride for organizing this year’s Pride Week events as well as to all the local residents, businesses and organizations that showed their support for the LGBTQ2 community,” says Behan.
Councillor Andrew Hallikas also extend his congratulations for a job well done.
“It’s activities such as these that make our community a safe, friendly and better place for everyone to live in. That entire week made me proud to live here,” says Hallikas.
