The International Falls-Koochiching County Airport Commission is looking to extend a passenger fee at Falls International Airport for another 14 years.
The $4.50 per person charges is applied to the price of an airline ticket.
It was put in place more than a decade ago to help offset the cost of improvements.
Chair, and International Falls Mayor, Bob Anderson says they expect to generate about $1.2 million dollars by keeping the fee in place.
“And the money can only be used for project improvements at the airport,” says Anderson.
Federal approval is needed first before they can extend the fee until 2034.
