The Alcohol and Gaming Commission has sifted through some 5,000 applications to award 42 licenses to operate new cannabis stores in Ontario.
Two will go to proponents in Kenora and Thunder Bay.
The Commission received 94 applications for the one licence to set up in Kenora.
Eighty-three of them were for the same location, 420 Second St. S., proposed by the winning operator.
Many of them were rejected by the AGCO as being ineligible for one reason or another.
Another 217 applications were received for the one license awarded for a store in Thunder Bay.
