Fort Frances High School students took part in mock-vote last week as part of program Student Vote Canada.
Had we left the vote to young people, the Liberals still would have won a minority government but with fewer seats.
In the parallel Student Vote Canada initiative, students favoured the Liberals in 110 ridings, the NDP in 99 and the Conservatives in 94.
School students also liked NDP candidates in all three northwestern Ontario.
Of the seven schools in the Rainy River district participating in either schoolwide or classroom votes, six like best the platform of NDP candidate Yuk-Sem Won. Rainy River High School students favoured her by just a single vote ahead of Conservative candidate Linda Rydholm.
Riverview School in Rainy River gave the nod to Green Party candidate Amanda Moddejonge.
The program is offered each federal, provincial and municipal election to grade 5 to 12 classes to educate them about the election process.
