The opioid crisis in northern Ontario is being called a public health emergency by one northern Ontario MPP.
Jamie West, the NDP member for Sudbury, is demanding the Ford government make the declaration official through his private member’s bill.
West points out the only overdose prevention site in the north is located in Thunder Bay.
The MPP introduced his bill yesterday afternoon and hopes ” all MPPs will show leadership” and join him and “vote for this motion and commit to fighting this epidemic and invest in saving lives in northern Ontario.”
