A local committee formed with the aim of celebrating and promoting the region’s diversity has come to an end.
Members at a Celebrating Diversity committee last week felt it had run its course and they would no longer meet.
They feel it has accomplished what it originally set out to do when it was formed in 2008.
It was initially created with the help of the OPP and included representation from 25 different agencies.
At its final meeting last week, just nine members appeared.
The introduction of a Respect program was one of its significant projects.
