The Canadian Mental Health Association Fort Frances Branch are offing up weekly "Mood Walks".
Taking place every Tuesday afternoon until May 28th. Meet up at 1:30pm. Meet up spots will vary.
Mood Walks are designed to encourage and support the mental and physical health of participants through exposure to the healing effects of nature and also to encourage participation in physical activity and engagement with the community.
Participants, such as those at risk of or experiencing mental health difficulties and social isolation, can benefit from participating in Mood Walks.
Research shows that being in nature has significant positive effects on both physical and mental health. Green exercise can alleviate primary symptoms of depression and anxiety, as well as secondary symptoms such as low self-esteem and social withdrawal.
Participants must be age 16 or older.
To register for the walk (up to 12 participants), please call 807-274-2347 ext 212 or 807-274-2347 ext 211.
